Dr. Fernandez earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta and is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his family medicine residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, and has been practicing in North Carolina since 2001. He owns an occupational medicine clinic and specialized in setting up low overhead, high revenue cash based practices for primary care physicians.
He has been a featured speaker for the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventative Medicine, Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, North Carolina State Firemen's Association, and is also a contributing author for the Fire Chief magazine, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs Newsletter and the Carolinas Fire Rescue EMS Journal.
He is the Corporate Consulting Physician for Progress Energy, a Fortune 100 Energy Company, and oversees 4 physicians and 10,000 employees at 4 nuclear power plants.
He has also worked with many national corporations providing medical directorship and consulting, including; John Deere Turf Care, Butterball, Caterpillar and many others.
Dr. Walker completed his undergraduate training at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He received a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency was completed in Family Medicine at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Walker's primary practice is located in Marietta, Georgia.
He is the Secretary for the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventative Medicine, and has also served as adjunct faculty in Family Medicine for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia Campus.
He has contributed to various journals on the subject of Occupational Medicine. He currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Georgia Power and supervises the wellness program for over 12,000 Georgia Power and Alabama Power Employees.
